    Yummy!

I have made this recipe many times and always get recipe requests. I sometimes add chopped walnuts or pecans, and have made them using regular chips melted in the cookie dough but mint chocolate chips stirred in for a change of pace. No matter how I make them, they are always yummy!

These cookies are nice because they are easy to make and use ingredients that are often around the house so there aren’t a lot of special ingredients to buy. But I found that the semi-sweet chocolate was too rich a flavor for my taste so I tried them with white chocolate, milk chocolate, peanut butter and butterscotch morsels as well. They all tasted great. It did change the consistency of the batter some so the cookies tended to expand and flatten out more than the original recipe and of course they are not fudge cookies any more but it is a way to use one recipe to please a wide variety of taste buds.

my mom used to make these but using mint flavored choc chips and they have always been my absolute favorite!! whenever i make them now for people i instantly get them hooked!! one of my tricks is to put the powdered sugar in a small bowl and drop the cookie into it and shake the bowl around to cover in the powdered sugar - make sure there is a lot of powdered sugar to ensure the thick white crackled outside!!! xoxo
