    One of my Favorites

Portia Coleman from New Bern, NC

I loved this dish. I'm from Mississippi, so I eat a lot of grits and was anxious to try this. I made it for Sunday dinner and it was great. My husband doesn't really like grits, but he also loved this dish. I will make this a lot. I omitted the hot pepper sauce, but that was the only change I made to this recipe. It is perfect the way it is.

    Love IT!

    ginger jones from Rosman, NC

I tried this a couple of weekends ago for my family. It has turned into a family favorite now. I add extra sharp cheddar cheese (only because that is what we love) and it is WONDERFUL! Thanks for the new Sunday morning family tradition :)

    Breakfast, just like Grandma's

    Bonita Cleveland from SOLON, OH

The hearty dish is complete w/homemade biscuits or toast and jam. My children who are not big fans of "grits" absolutely love this and so do I. Each time I make it, I substitute different types of cheese for a variety. I also use ground turkey sausage. It's reminiscent of those down home breakfasts with Grandma....

    Substitutions

Betheia Morris from Fort Walton Beach, FL

This was good but just ok to my husband. So I tried it again. As I cooked the sausage {I subbed Hot sausage} I added a lg diced bell pepper and small onion. I had no garlic salt, so I added minced garlic from a jar to the grits, I had no hot sauce, so I used a 5- pepper spice that I use on a lot of thinga to give it some kick. My husband "loved" it Thanks for the original idea, just personalized a bit.

    Good all-in-one meal

paula fellwock from RICHLAND CENTER, WI

This works well either for breakfast or Sunday supper. Pretty bland unless you add some hot sauce. I spread some salsa over the top before adding the final sprinkling of cheese for the last 10 minutes of baking, which gave it just the right amount of zing.
