Harvest Apple Crumble

Ingredients

2 packages (12-oz) STOUFFER'S Harvest Apples, defrosted according to package directions
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter
1 cup whipped cream

 

Directions

PREHEAT oven to 350°F.

PLACE harvest apples in 2-quart baking dish. Sprinkle with granulated sugar and lemon juice.

COMBINE flour, brown sugar and nutmeg in small bowl. Cut in butter with pastry blender or 2 knives until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples.

BAKE for 25 to 30 minutes or until filling bubbles around edges and top is golden brown. Serve with whipped cream.

    Even my husband's grandmother who doesn't like anything raved about this recipe. Not too difficult to make, but you should definitely use the pastry blender if at all possible. If you like a lot of topping you may want to double the ingredients for the topping because once it cooks some of it dissolves down into the apples.
