These came out well except I used candy canes. My son helped by breaking the candy canes & sprinkling them on top of the chocolate. The second batch which went to work, I used white chocolate bark & baking white chocolate. My son added Christmas colored sprinkles to them along with the candy canes.

This is the easiest holiday recipe and makes such a great gift for neighbors and co-workers! I also recommend mixing the peppermint into the chocolate directly or using the green and red candy canes for more color!

Now there is no waiting for the holidays to enjoy this wonderful peppermint bark. This recipe is quick and easy and can be prepared anytime. I keep the bark in a closed container in the refrigerator for that extra umph!! Also like the idea of cinnamon candies. Thanks for such a great recipe!

    Double the fun

    Katy Basler from Maryville, TN

While this is a wonderful recipe for Christmas, especially for gift giving, I love surprising people with this treat at Valentines. I save left over candy canes or buy several boxes after Christmas when the stores are practically giving them away. They are perfect for making this peppermint bark; I find the candy canes are easier to crush than the round peppermint candies.

Love this recipe-very easy. I add semisweet chocolate as bottom layer then the white. Also use red hot cinnamon for Valentine's Day.Can drizzle semi sweet on top for extra color.

    Peppermint Bark

    Heather Nugent from Newfane, NY

About four years ago, I decided that a nice tin of cookies and bark candy would be our Christmas gift to my husband's side of the family (he is the youngest of nine, and his nieces and nephews have young children of their own). I made several batches of the peppermint bark, but melted the chips with 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil. It turned out great! I "sampled" every batch that I made because it tasted so good! This past Christmas, I made the bark with the green colored mint candies instead of the red, just for something different. I will be sure to make this bark more often, since it is such a big hit!
