Hot and Spicy Sausage Sauce over Linguine is delicious and features an extremely easy-to-make sauce that uses only a handful of ingredients and may be frozen for later use. Red bell peppers and tomatoes add color and elegance to this dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 8 ounces hot Italian sausage links, casings removed and cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1 small green or red bell pepper, cut into strips
  • 1 can (14.5-oz.) pasta-ready chunky tomatoes
  • 1 package (9 oz.) BUITONI Refrigerated Linguine (9 oz.)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

HEAT oil in large skillet. Add sausage; cook, stirring occasionally, until no longer pink. Drain.

ADD bell pepper; cook, stirring occasionally, until crisp-tender. Reduce heat to low. Stir in tomatoes; cook, stirring occasionally, for 10 to 15 minutes or until flavors are blended.

PREPARE pasta according to package directions. Top with sauce; sprinkle with cheese.

FOR FREEZE AHEAD:
PREPARE
as above; do not prepare pasta. Cover; freeze for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight in refrigerator.

HEAT in medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until heated through.

PREPARE pasta according to package directions. Top with sauce; sprinkle with cheese.

O' Wow!

"O Wow!, what do you call this stuff, this is out of this world" says my 4 kids. The second time around, my kids volunteered to make fresh bread if I would make this "secred stuff" again. Yep, I am still "King" around home. I added med-hot salsa, onions, celery , grated carrots and diced green pepper. Sure beats just frying .

Very Flavorful!!

Quick, easy and delicious! The spice of the sausage gives this dish the perfect flavor. I sauteed onions with the meat and used yellow, red and green peppers. I will DEFINITELY be making this again.

Really Great made Diablo
