  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons NESCAFÉ TASTER'S CHOICE House Blend 100% Pure Instant Coffee Granules
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 cups (12-oz. pkg.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels, divided
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons NESCAFÉ TASTER'S CHOICE House Blend 100% Pure Instant Coffee Granules
  • 2/3 cup sifted powdered sugar
  • 1/8 cup NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Baking Cocoa, (optional)

COMBINE water, coffee granules, sugar and butter in medium, heavy-duty saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat; stir in 1 cup morsels until smooth. Stir in eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in flour mixture. Pour into greased 9-inch-square baking pan.

BAKE in preheated 350° F. oven for 18 to 25 minutes, or until wooden pick inserted near center comes out slightly sticky. Cool in pan on wire rack.

Marvelous Mocha Brownies ever made!

These brownies are so moist, rich, and simply amazing. I followed the recipe exactly-no changes are needed. My husband, who does not drink coffee tried them and said, ".. taste a little mocha-is there coffee in these brownies?" I am a coffee lover and the java brownies "hit the spot"!

Best Mistake I Ever Made

The first time I tried making these, I doubled the recipe, and the brownies were heaven! Dense, fudgy, rich - the works. Then I made a single batch a few weeks later and was so disappointed - they came out much more dry and ordinary-tasting. I double-checked the recipe and suddenly realized what I'd done: I'd forgotten to double the eggs when I originally doubled the recipe! So last weekend I made another double recipe with only 3 eggs, and voila - they were as wonderful as they'd been the first time! The moral of the story: If you're making a single batch, try using only 2 eggs, and if you're making a double, DON'T double the eggs.

Great taste!

Very flavorful brownies with just the right amount of coffee flavor. Had a hard time getting the icing to "set" so they were very messy, but so very good!

I made these exactly except I added 1 teaspoon of vanilla to the batter. They turned out great especially with the unsweetened cocoa on top. Will be making these for Bunko soon.

Made these brownies for friends on their moving day. What a hit! Especially good served cold, because we had to keep them in a cooler. Great tasting & was asked for the recipe!
