This is the recipe my stepmother used. It was good then, and I'm sure it's good now. When I was younger, I did not care for cooking it with ketchup. Now I think it is okay.

I haven't made meatloaf for a few years as no one in my family likes it. I live alone now and had a craving for meatloaf. Found this recipe and made it only I left out the dry milk, water and ketchup and instead used 1/4 cup sour cream beaten thorougly with the eggs. It was still moist and tasty.

Made this recipe for a comfort meal for family members that had to work all weekend like me, but made ahead of time. Put in the oven, and added some vegetables to serve aside, and voila, a good comfort meal for family. Changed a few of items...no green peppers, sauteed the onions lightly before adding, and used tomato sauce instead of ketchup. Either way, a good traditional comfort meal. Thank you VeryBest Baking!

I made this for my wife Janet last night and was totally surprised. We bothed liked this very well, it was a little greasy but I consider that my fault for using 80/20 ground meat, so use leaner meat for this recipe.

This was an ok meatloaf in my house. I cut the recipe in half because there are only two of us. I use fresh bread crumbs instead of the plain dry. I also use very lean ground beef.

    C. Barnes from Chattanooga, TN

This is the best meatloaf recipe I have ever tried. I am by no means a great cook. Meals from boxes, frozen are my specialty. One thing moving from Ohio I missed the most (besides my family) was Mom's meatloaf. While this does not taste like Momma's, it is great! My husband states it is the best meatloaf he has ever had and that's saying a lot to compete with two southern grannies! Easy to make and very delicious you won't be disappointed!

I have used this recipe a lot. To help with the greasiness of the meatloaf, I bought a pan that is actually 2, the grease drains into the second pan while it is cooking. Great recipe highly recommend.

I loves me some meatloaf. After trying this recipe, I must say this is quite possibly the best meatloaf I've ever had. It is very moist and yet holds its shape when sliced. The flavors are a nice complement to each other. A slice of this meatloaf, a side of mac & cheese, cabbage, and cornbread puts me in comfort food heaven.

Jasmine N CODY from FARMINGDALE, NY

Basically this is the recipe I had always used for MEATLOAF with one exception . . . I had never used nonfat dry milk. I tried it and it was terrific! You would not think that one ingredient could really change a recipe much but it really added another dimension. I will remember to use it from now on as the whole family raved about how good the meatloaf turned out this time. Who knew?

    Very good!

L Herrera from Rancho Santa Margarita, CA

I made this meatloaf the other night along with the garlic rosemary mashed potatoes. It was very good and moist. It seemed like it made a lot so I cut the recipe in half and omitted the onions and peppers because we don't like them and added about a half cup of grated parmesean cheese to the mixture. My husband even liked it and he doesn't like meatloaf.

    Great Meatloaf

Meagan Yevtich from NEW BERN, NC

This was a very good recipe! It made enough for 10 people so you might have to cut in half for your family. Also make sure you cut the green peppers and onions very small so it doesn't over power the meat.

This recipe went over terrific with my husband! For just two people this recipe makes a lot, but he loves the leftovers and they were gone in 3 days! It stays very moist and holds together very well. Only thing I will do differently next time is add a little worchestershire to the meat! I may even make it for my in'laws! Yum!!

I made this last night and am happy to say this is a "keeper"! My husband has never really liked any of the other meatloaf recipes i've made, but this one is the exception....thank goodness, my search is over. I didn't have enough bread crumbs, so i added about 1/2 cup of crushed saltines, which seemed to work out fine. Next time i may experiement by adding some worsteshire sauce and mustard to the mix....but even without those ingredients, the meatloaf was great! :)

    meat loaf? not as usual!

Anna Brown from NEW LEXINGTON, OH

This is a "great" recipe. In my house meat loaf never tastes the same, because I'am always trying new recipies. I really liked this one, although I did make two changes (Seasoned bread crumbs & frozen onion & green/red pepper mixture, thats what I had.) It was a form meat loaf and very tastee. I had heard of using milk in it , but not powdered milk, It makes a very moist meat loaf. I have finally found a recipe that we really like, Next time I'am going to use part of the mixture to make meat balls. thanks, anna

This is so good. I usually don't use a recipe when I make meat loaf, just kind of throw things in, eggs, crushed crackers, onions, spices, ketchup, as my mom used to do but tonight decided to find an actual recipe and I hit the jackpot!! I didn't have plain breadcrumbs, just italian but we really liked it. I've never thought of putting dry milk in it but can sure see the difference. I'll be making this a lot!
