A sweet layer of chocolate covers this simple "almond-brickle" candy for a delicious treat any time of the year.
- 1 1/4 cups almonds, toasted and coarsely chopped
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
- 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
- 1 3/4 cups (11.5 oz. pkg.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Milk Chocolate Morsels
SPRINKLE nuts over bottom of well-greased 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
MELT butter in medium, heavy-duty saucepan over medium heat. Stir in sugar. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil, stirring constantly, for 7 minutes. Pour hot mixture over nuts; let stand for 5 minutes. Sprinkle with morsels. Let stand for 5 minutes or until morsels are shiny and soft; spread evenly.
REFRIGERATE for about 20 minutes. Break into bite-size pieces.

I have never made such an easy recipe that tasted soo gooood. I also added white chocolate morsels on top instead of chocolate. Mmmmm. I make trays for visitors at Christmas. So far I've made 13 different kinds of cookies! And, I've never made a recipe like this to add to my trays. It's already GONE! Everybody just loved it. Soooo, I need to make another one and maybe even one more to boot! I've spent at least $100.00 on NESTLE' products for all my goodies for Christmas. It's a time of sharing and boy do I love to share and do THEY love to recieve my cookies and now CANDY! Thank you for all the good tips and recipes on this site.
