Last December, I made this recipe for the first time and made no less than 15 batches of this wonderful candy!! It was such a huge hit with everyone who received it, that I am asked this year if I plan on making more. (Actually, it is more of a demand!) Every December, I make 70-90 dozen different kinds of cookies, at least 18-8 inch loaves of pumpkin bread, 18 loaves of another kind, and at least 20 pounds of candies, truffles and fudges. Add the 15 or so batches of your wonderful brickle and it all makes for delightful gift baskets for my out-of-state family and in-state friends. Thank you for an easy and so delicious brickle recipe - it is the best one I ever tried!

I made this for the first time at Christmas to put with my Christmas goodies I put together...needless to say, it didn't make it with the rest of the goodies I made, my husband and kids got into it first because they had to "try it first to see if it tasted alright for everybody else" it was gone before I knew it. I love chocolate and love almonds, so the two together, it was wonderful!! :)

I have never made such an easy recipe that tasted soo gooood. I also added white chocolate morsels on top instead of chocolate. Mmmmm. I make trays for visitors at Christmas. So far I've made 13 different kinds of cookies! And, I've never made a recipe like this to add to my trays. It's already GONE! Everybody just loved it. Soooo, I need to make another one and maybe even one more to boot! I've spent at least $100.00 on NESTLE' products for all my goodies for Christmas. It's a time of sharing and boy do I love to share and do THEY love to recieve my cookies and now CANDY! Thank you for all the good tips and recipes on this site. I've e-mailed many friends and family to join and they have and love it as well as I do!! Merry Christmas and God Bless each and every little finger in your kitchens! This recipe is sooooo easy. I made it with my daycare kids (they "pounded" the almonds). I even sent it to my cousin who uses her oven as a "storage" cabinet! She was pleased to have a recipe that she didn't have to convert her "storage" cabinet back to its original oven! She loved it also.

    Mother-in-law 's Favorite

    Anne Peterson from California, MD

My late father made this and he called it bark and by whatever name that you call it--it brings back a lot of memories for me. He would make it for us during the holidays and would make sure that each and everyone of us had some before we were to retire. We would savor it and enjoy it. I made this very recipe for my mother-in-law as part of her holiday offerings as I am a power baker during the holidays--she loved it and did not share it with her sister-in-law. She only shares those things that she does not like--she did not share this one at all. I enjoy making this for her and my husband's office for the holidays as it says that you are loved and thought of just like my father used to tell us when he made it for us.

Although it is only August I am always looking for new recipes to give for office gifts at Christmas. Since I work in a school there are alot of people that I always want to include in my gift giving. Tried this out and is perfect for gift giving. It tastes great, easy to make, it is not that expensive(have to make very large quantities) and can be packaged in a few different ways so everyone gets a different wrapping. A win win recipe! goes to the head of the class with an A+
