Milk Chocolate Snack Cake
Leftover chocolate morsels are sprinkled on this tasty Milk Chocolate Snack Cake just as it comes out of the oven. When they become soft and gooey, spread them evenly for a quick and rich 'frosting'. Surprise your kids when they get home from school!
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 3/4 cups (11.5-oz. pkg.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Milk Chocolate Morsels, divided
- 1 cup chopped nuts

COMBINE flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture alternately with water. Stir in 1 cup morsels and nuts. Pour into prepared pan.
BAKE for 25 to 30 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Immediately sprinkle remaining morsels over warm cake; let stand for 5 minutes or until morsels are shiny and soft. Spread evenly over cake. Cool completely.

Yummy and so easy
I could hardly wait for the pan to cool to try a taste of this snack cake. It was well worth the wait. Nice texture and not too sweet.

This will certainly appeal to your sweet-tooth! It's not the best recipe I have tried on this site, however, if you are looking for a quick and easy after school snack-this will do the trick! Kids love it. Chocolate and cake, how can they be dissapointed? Tastes good-worth the little amount of effort I put into it!

It is a good quick dessert, a little on the sweet side with the melted chocolate chips on top. I would describe it as a chocolate chip cookie cake, and definitely make it again.
