had my little girls girlfriend over so i wanted something that most 8 yr olds like. Very quick and easy! I made 2 diffrent batches butterscotch and chocolate. Instead of sugar I used 1/3 c of agave nectar and 4T of cocoa for the 2nd batch and I love it!

I'm not sure how many people rate a recipe before trying it, but when I was a child my Mother used to make this from scratch for me. She passed away when I was only 14yrs. old. I am now 60 years young and I can still taste her special treat she made for me from her heart. When I saw this, it brought back such good heart full memories. Your ingredients are the same as hers. I can't wait to make this for my dear grandkids, I know they will love it as much as I and I will have a good story to tell as they eat it!

Wow! I had an empty baked pie shell I wanted to fill. I cooked the pudding in the microwave .Poured it right in the pie shell. Sprinkled the top with Nestle's Peanut Butter and Milk Chocolate Morsels. Didn't have any whipped topping, but didn't need it. A tip here,....If you use DARK brown sugar, you will get a more intense butterscotch flovor. Extremely satisfying.

My husband loves butterscotch pudding and I had always made it from box mixes. I decided to try this recipe and I was so pleased with it. My husband couldn't believe how good it was. I was a little nervous about trying it as I had heard homemade puddings were difficult to get right, but this was really easy. I'll never go back to boxed pudding again.

    Old-fashioned Butterscotch Pudding

This pudding had a nice light and creamy consistency, but it lacked a strong butterscotch taste. I was looking for something like the old-fashioned boxed taste of butterscotch, and this recipe didn't have a strong enough flavor for me.

I left out the water, the second time I prepared this pudding, and got a much richer result. I also skip the whipped cream. For a little added color, I toss a handful of mini-marshmallows on top of the warm pudding. When they melt, they are one more point the kids love about this pudding.

Like the contributor said, you won't go back to boxed pudding. This pudding is so good, easy to make and brings back memories of warm kitchens with family and friends, and it smells soooo good when you are cooking it. It reminds me of when my mom would make pudding for dessert for after dinner. Great recipe and thanks to the contributor for another idea for everyday cooking for family. GREAT! A+++++++++ Would make a great butterscotch pie too which I am going to do soon. Husband loves butterscotch pudding and I almost didn't get any afer he took his first bite.

I love butterscotch!!!, so this I thought was a greatrecipe when I found it. Then I made it sunday when my 23 year old daughter was here, we waited for it to cool off a bit and then we started tasting and stopped when half of the bowl was in our stomachs, my daughter thought that it tasted a bit like sweetened condensed milk and begged me to make a bowl just for her this week. Thank you for a nice Sunday afternoon with my daughter and a good recipe that will always be near.
