Outrageous Cookie Bars
These quick and easy Outrageous Cookie Bars are a perfect treat for a brown-bag lunch or a snack.
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1 can (14 oz.) NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Sweetened Condensed Milk
- 2 cups (12-oz. pkg.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
- 1 cup flaked coconut
- 1 cup chopped walnuts

MELT butter in 13 x 9-inch baking pan in oven; remove from oven. Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs over butter. Stir well; press onto bottom of pan. Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over crumbs. Sprinkle with morsels, coconut and nuts; press down firmly.
BAKE for 25 to 30 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars.

Great cookie bar!
This recipe is so easy and fast to make. The best thing is that it can be enhanced by adding dried cranberries, or using chocolate graham crackers instead of regular ones.
My family loves these. They don't last long. Last time I made them I didn't use walnuts but mini marshmallows. Yummy and gooey. Kept them in the freezer which made them chewy and yummy.
My mom made these when we were little; they are easy, great for kids to help with, and sooooo good! I thought everyone had these growing up, but I found out my mother-in-law had never had them, and she is now addicted, too!
My mother began making these bars when I was 10 after she found the recipe on the back of the carnation condensed milk label. I started to carry on the tradition when I was 14 and I am now passing the tradition on to my 14 year old. These bars are ALWAYS a hit. We typically save them for Christmas, but they are so good, we have now incorporated them into our Thanksgiving tradition.
One of my favorite cookie recipes--I grew up making and eating this one! Great for kids to help in the kitchen--everyone loves this one!
