- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 1/2 cup OVALTINE Rich Chocolate Mix
- 2 large eggs
- 8 slices (1/2-inch-thick) firm, day-old bread, divided
- 2 teaspoons butter, divided
- Powdered sugar (optional)
- Maple syrup (optional)
- Fresh berries (optional)
WHISK together milk, Ovaltine and eggs in shallow dish until well blended. Place 4 slices of bread into egg mixture turning over to evenly moisten both sides.
MELT 1 teaspoon butter in large, nonstick skillet over medium heat. Transfer prepared bread to skillet in single layer. Cook for 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove slices to serving platter. Melt remaining 1 teaspoon butter; repeat with remaining bread slices. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve immediately with syrup and berries.
