I made these over the weekend and thought they were very tasty and easy. Not 5-stars amazing, but still a yummy treat. I don't like peanuts so I substituted peanut butter chips instead and that worked perfectly. Good to try if you want a twist on 7 layer/magic bars.

These are so good! I also took about 25 carmels (plus a couple tablespoons of water) and melted in the microwave. When the pan came out of the oven I drizzled the caramel over the top. Then sprinkled some more coconut over that. TO DIE FOR!

A little inconvenient, but very worth it.

    RACHEL GUNN from CA

I almost gave this 4 out of 5 stars because I was a little turned off by the fact that I had to go out and buy cookies in order to make these cookies. However the result is an incredible and very tasty cookie. It really is delicious and it's easy to make. In fact it's a good one to make with little kids because they can help smash the peanut butter sandwich cookies and help assemble each layer!

Very good! They was a big hit and a great way to use up broken cookies. Next time I plan to reverse the crust and morsels. Do a chocolate cookie crust and a peanut butter morsel top. That should be good too.

Great modification for magic cookie bars

    Lisa Belliston from Athens, GA

I love the modification of using peanut butter cookies for the crust to these magic cookie bars/7 layer bars instead of graham crackers. I do recommend against using raw peanuts (which is what I had at home) rather than the dry roasted. However, it still got good reviews from my friends!

  • Star(s)

    Yummie!!!

    Jackie Menke from Washington, DC

I made these for my college spanish class for a presentation. They were easy (for a kid that lives in the dorms, it was excellent to only have 6 ingredients) and they turned out delicious. **a little secret: try to keep the condensed milk a tiny bit (half an inch) away from the edges of the bars bc it seaps out and carmelizes against the hot pan. That makes for a sticky, hardened edge. Otherwise, they are terrific!!

I used to make this recipe with graham cracker crumbs and butter for a base. Since I've used your recipe with the cookies instead, they are a much better success. And you don't have to add the butter since it's already in the cookies. 1 less step, Thank You!
