    Impressive

    Kara Vereen from FL

I had never made from-scratch frosting before, because I never knew how easy (and worth it!!) it was. I was honestly surprised at how incredibly simple and amazingly delicious home-made icing could be! It only took about 5 minutes, and it makes enough to ice a fairly large cake. I'll definitely be making this again!

This was exactly what I was looking for something easy and yummy. Everyone knew it was from scratch and NOT from a can. Thanks for a great frosting...

What a great recipe! This is the deliciously smooth, creamy, awesomely sweet type of frosting I grew up with! Ready made frosting may be convenient, but it'll never replace the kind Mom used to whip up with the mixer!!!

    Jodi Jones from PHOENIX, AZ

The frosting was easy and was good. I actually made this for an ice cream cake and I thought it froze great and I got great reviews, but I can't say it is the best frosting I have made, although I will make it again.

Wonderful, easy recipe! We used this on a wedding cake and it is very rich and just perfect. If the icing seems just a little too soft just chill for a short time.

    Delicious!

SUSAN CALLAWAY from YORBA LINDA, CA

This frosting turned out very good, but I did add a bit more powdered sugar and a tiny dash of salt which really brought out the flavors and made it even better! A word of caution, however-I made this cake the night before we needed it, put it in the refrigerator late at night and took it out late the next afternoon, about 3-4 hours before we ate it. The frosting between the layers was almost rock hard, felt like cold lard in my mouth, and was pretty tasteless in that solid state. We didn't chill the leftovers and ate it the next day and it was so much better! So, be sure to allow adequate time for the frosting to return to room temp--way more than 3-4 hours after being chilled 15 hours! Lastly, I doubled the recipe which gave me enough to fill and frost a 3-layer cake, but nothing extra to do any piping.

    great taste

    March Baremore from RICHARDSON, TX

I used this frosting on a wedding cake I made. It has a great taste, but is a little too thin for any decorating. I had to add a lot more powdered sugar to get it to decorating consistancy. I would definitely use this recipe again for a plain cake just as a frosting!

I never thought of putting white chocolate in frosting, although I often dip my Christmas spritz cookies in white chocolate. This is really a tasty frosting.

This was the first butter creme recipe I have ever tried to make. It was a hit. I brought the cake into work and now everyone is asking for the recipe. I also chopped up some marzipan and mixed that in with the icing I used in the middle of the cake. It gave the icing a subtle almondy taste.

This recipe makes the smoothest, creamiest, tasty frosting for any cake you want to put it on. Not too sweet and you can play with it a little and change the flavor. Very easy. Just use your imagination! Spreads beautifully, and makes an excellent presentation!

I am so glad I found this recipe. For Christmas I usually bake sugar cookies and I use store bought icing and I wanted to try something a little different this year, so I made the icing and it was delicious. It was perfect for the cookies I baked and I even made chocolate sandwich cookies. I cannot wait to use if for my christmas cookies that I bake for gifts. I loved it.
