Ingredients:

8 oz. NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Premier White Baking Bar, broken into small pieces
1/3 cup heavy whipping cream
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, cut into pieces
1 cup powdered sugar

Directions:

MICROWAVE baking bars and cream in medium, uncovered, microwave-safe bowl on MEDIUM-HIGH (70%) power for 1 minute; STIR. The bars may retain some of their shape. If necessary, microwave at additional 10 to 15-second intervals, stirring just until melted.

TRANSFER mixture to large mixer bowl; cool to room temperature. Beat in butter until creamy. Gradually beat in powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Makes 3 cups.

This frosting turned out very good, but I did add a bit more powdered sugar and a tiny dash of salt which really brought out the flavors and made it even better! A word of caution, however-I made this cake the night before we needed it, put it in the refrigerator late at night and took it out late the next afternoon, about 3-4 hours before we ate it. The frosting between the layers was almost rock hard, felt like cold lard in my mouth, and was pretty tasteless in that solid state. We didn't chill the leftovers and ate it the next day and it was so much better! So, be sure to allow adequate time for the frosting to return to room temp--way more than 3-4 hours after being chilled 15 hours! Lastly, I doubled the recipe which gave me enough to fill and frost a 3-layer cake, but nothing extra to do any piping.

I used this frosting on a wedding cake I made. It has a great taste, but is a little too thin for any decorating. I had to add a lot more powdered sugar to get it to decorating consistancy. I would definitely use this recipe again for a plain cake just as a frosting!
