Ingredients:

1/2 cup dry NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Instant Nonfat Dry Milk
1 to 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Baking Cocoa
1 cup boiling water
Whipped cream or miniature marshmallows (optional)

Directions:

COMBINE dry milk, sugar and cocoa in mug or cup; stir in boiling water. Garnish with whipped cream or miniature marshmallows before serving.

VARIATION
FOR COCOA MEXICANA: Add 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon to dry ingredients. Follow directions above; stir in 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract. Omit whipped cream and marshmallows.

I had to try this as soon as I found the recipe. I made big batches of hot chocolate mix when all 4 of our kids were young. I haven't made it in years because I don't drink it often and the mix gets stale before I can drink it all. Plus, my husband is diabetic now. Now I can have a cup whenever I want and make one for my husband with artificial sweetener. Put a little coffee creamer in to add a little richness (vanilla flavored would be good). Definitely will make this again.

This sure beats those premixed packages of hot cocoa. I substituted 2% milk and heated the milk in the microwave. You have to be careful not to boil the milk. But the flavor is great.

Love this recipe with old fashioned cinnamon toast made with butter, generous amount of sugar, and cinnamon. Place in toaster oven until sugar bubbles. Yum. Not sure why, but cocoa made fresh, instead of from a mix, always tastes so much better. This recipe is quick and fun to make.
