I just made a cup, and enjoyed it very much. I think it needs more vanilla, but then my mom as always told me to double the vanilla in every recipe!

    Perfect!

    Kathy Lowry from TOMBALL, TX

I had to try this as soon as I found the recipe. I made big batches of hot chocolate mix when all 4 of our kids were young. I haven't made it in years because I don't drink it often and the mix gets stale before I can drink it all. Plus, my husband is diabetic now. Now I can have a cup whenever I want and make one for my husband with artificial sweetener. Put a little coffee creamer in to add a little richness (vanilla flavored would be good). Definitely will make this again.

    Yummy from China

    barbara mazzone from SCHENECTADY, NY

My daughter is in China and doesn't have access to milk. Instead of sending instant hot cholate products in my last package, I sent her the instant carnation milk, chocolate and marshmellows. Fortunately these items made it through customs and she loved it. She also likes the fact that she now has a milk product to work with. I'll be sending more carnation instant milk and morsels.

This sure beats those premixed packages of hot cocoa. I substituted 2% milk and heated the milk in the microwave. You have to be careful not to boil the milk. But the flavor is great.

    Cukoo for Cocoa

Amber Andrews from FORTY FORT, PA

I made single cups of cocoa for my guests on X-mas Eve. It was enjoyable to make my own hot cooca and of course impressed the guests! It was very rich and creamy. Next time I know to alter the recipe, less cocoa, it was hard to get it mixed completely and a little to rich for my chocolate blood!

Hot cocoa for one is great

    Ann Novick from NASHUA, NH

I usuall make my hot cocoa mix up in a larger quantity (to get me through the wintertime). However, in summertime, when my supply of homemade cocoa mix is low; it's nice to have a recipe for one (chilled person) after hours of swimming in the pool. I top it off w/ a splash of evaporated milk for a creamier taste.

Love this recipe with old fashioned cinnamon toast made with butter, generous amount of sugar, and cinnamon. Place in toaster oven until sugar bubbles. Yum. Not sure why, but cocoa made fresh, instead of from a mix, always tastes so much better. This recipe is quick and fun to make.
