Ingredients:
1 box (18.25 oz.) spice cake mix
6 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 jar (4.5 oz.) brandied hard sauce
2 tablespoons butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 1/2 to 5 cups powdered sugar
Directions:
PREPARE cake mix according to package directions; pour into two prepared 8- or 9-inch round cake pans. Bake according to package directions; cool completely.
PLACE cream cheese, hard sauce, butter and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl. Blend until smooth. Gradually add enough powdered sugar to make a thick frosting. Place one layer of cake on serving platter. Frost top; top with second layer. Frost top and sides of cake. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
