I love quick breads, and this is a great one to make with pumpkin! I use extra nuts. The nuts sprinkled over the top gives the loaf a beautiful appearance and a nice taste sensation. I like this recipe because it makes two loaves. One to eat and one for the freezer, or to send home with someone. I've even used half to make a pan of muffins. (remember to take them out of the oven after 15-20 min. and let the loaf continue to bake) When the kitchen is filled with the aroma of bread baking, no one can wait for the loaf to cool, so the muffins disappear!

I usually omit the nuts when I take this to a pitch in, and I make Orange Butter or Pineapple Butter to go with it. I have used it many times and it is always a crowd pleaser.

    Best Pumpkin Bread

    cindy stewart-birdwell from NICHOLASVILLE, KY

This pumpkin bread is absolutely hands down the best Pumpkin Bread recipe you can make! Flavorful, moist, spicy, nutty...this has it all. I make it every Fall and take it to neighbors, friends and my husband's co-workers. They rave about it and have come to look forward to my making this every season. I am known around here in the Fall as the Pumpkin Bread Lady, and everyone smiles when they see me coming!

    What a nice treat--healthy too...

Cathy Perreault from SANTA PAULA, CA

This is a great recipe for pumpkin nut bread, often served during the fall holidays, but a great choice any time of year. Using the canned pumpkin makes it so much easier (I have used the real thing in the past, but now I am older it is just too hard to cut up and boil and peel pumpkin pieces). It is a great source of vitamin A and the apple juice makes the recipe even healthier. Good work, Nestle, for having this recipe available.

    Pleases everyone in the family

Sarah Leon from Santa Rosa, CA

From the kids to the grownups, we all love the taste of this pumpkin bread, and I love the fact that my kids are getting "stealth" veggies in them. Bread is very easy to make, too. I've modified the recipe a tiny bit for my family to make it even more healthy (a bit less sugar, a bit less fat, a bit of protein powder) and the bread is no less tasty.

even though there was a great deal of left overs from thanksgiving. i decided to spice up the next day with this pumpkin bread. my family loves to have brunch when we can all be there together, which is hard to do once school and activities start. i wanted to do something new and this bread was a HIT!!! it wasn't a traditional bread for us, but from all of the uhmmms and the quick exit, by way of stomach, the bread made, i'm sure it will be. easy to make and nothing special to buy for this time of year. thumbs up!!!

    Brenna Taylor from Mesa, AZ

Before I tried this bread, I read a few reviews and took notes on some things people did. I used the applesauce instead of juice and doubled the pumpkin pie spice (needed a bit more tho) But it was still amazing! Definitely an awesome bread for Thanksgiving and Christmas!

    A bit more spice please

Kim Morgan from Green Bay, WI

This recipe is a very good and easy bread. I prefer more spice so I doubled the pumpkin pie spice, added 1/2 teas. cloves and a teaspoon of cinnamon..turned out great.

  • Star(s)

    Yum! Yum! Yum!

Beth Bray from Iron Mountain, MI

I made this bread for a playgroup and it was a hit with moms and kids. I made a couple of changes though. I left out the nuts and used 2 cups white flour and 2 cups wheat flour. It was still very moist but a little heavier. The next time I make it I will use applesauce instead of oil, add more spices, and possibly add dried fruit. I think this is a great basic recipe that can be altered to fit anybody's specific taste.
