Sugar with spice and everything nice

At first I was a little reluctant to use jalapenos. However my curiosity won over, and I added them. They gave this cake an extra little kick. This cake was amazing and everyone loved it!

I made this cake for my family for Easter, and as soon as I bit into it I fell in love! The cinnamon adds a wonderful depth to the chocolate flavor, and it was very moist and kept for quite a few days. I also left out the jalapeños and used a different Nestle frosting recipe.

Chocolate and cinnamon aren't a pairing one usually thinks of, but this this cake has gone over so big in my household, I'll have to hide the recipe and only trot it out for special occasions...like weekends. Most definitely worth the 'effort' of a scratch cake.

    Yummy

    Dayvene Foss from COALINGA, CA

I was a bit nervous about the jalapenos -- never thought about putting them in a cake let alone a chocolate cake but it did add a nice zing. Even my friend who doesn't care for chocolate like the cake. I left off the frosting and just did a stencil in powdered sugar. It was a nice treat. Would use this recipe again.

"Chocolate cake with a little kick" is how my family described this cake when I made it for them. The peppers give it just a little spiciness. Or you can leave them out & have a wonderful chocolate cake.

I tried this cake but skipped some ingredients like the jalepanoes and the frosting as i always make my cakes without the frostings or icings. The cake was fine, nothing tempting but the texture was great! Simple and easy
