Ingredients:

2 cups unsweetened thawed, frozen strawberries*
2 cans (12 fl. oz. each) NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Evaporated Milk
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1/8 teaspoon salt

Directions:

PLACE strawberries in food processor fitted with blade; cover. Pulse until strawberries are small pieces.

COMBINE evaporated milk, strawberries with their juice, sugar, lemon juice and salt in large bowl. Pour into ice cream machine container. Follow manufacturer’s instruction for preparation.

* Any frozen fruit or berry may be used. If using sweetened frozen fruit or berries, reduce sugar to 1/2 cup. Recipe makes about 1 1/2 quarts of ice cream.

I have always made strawberry ice cream using a cooked custard base until I saw this recipe. My goodness how easy itis to make. Few ingredients are needed and time is saved with this recipe. No one even noticed that I had made a different recipe so I will certainly make it more often. I used splenda instead of sugar and used low fat evaporated milk. A real winner with my family and friends. It is also delicious using peaches.

I was in the mood to make ice cream. I began looking at your site and saw the recipe for Strawberrry Ice Cream. I had very few strawberries but I had two beautiful peaches. I also had a 12 ounce can of fat-free evaporated milk. I peeled the peaches, chopped them and pureed them in the blender. Added the remaining ingredients and blended. A little fat was needed so I added some creamer. I adjusted the sugar to taste. We loved it and will make it again.

This Ice cream was so very good and ever sooooo tasty. I think I will make some tomorrow night. Also Cherry is really good as this as well. we through in a few sliced cherries and choped walnuts. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it.

I made this strawvberry ice cream yesterday and my husband and I LOVED it! I was so happy to find a recipe without all that heavy cream in it. I can always have the evaporated milk in the cupboard. I think a half recipe works best in our little Cuisinart freezer. I had to divide the whole recipe into two batches. I made half the last night and the other half tonight. It is creamy, flavorful, light and easy. What could be better?
