This is a great recipe and so easy to make. I use tons of pesto sauce and the tomatoes really add a wonderful taste to the sandwich. Stuff is as tight as you can because the stuffing will settle once its baked. My sister loves this recipe.

    Great sandwich!!!!

Everyone loves this sandwich when I make it. I used Hawaiin Bread instead of sourdough - Turned out great! I also add ham and use green bell peppers and add pickles to half for the kids.

    Great!

I made this for a playgroup I was having. It went over well. Our commissarry was out of round loaves of sourdough bread so I used French bread...it was GREAT! I then tried today with the sourdough...we prefer the french instead. Over all wonderful! I added some onions, tomato, greenpeppers, and 2 other cheeses. Yummy!

    Stuffed Sandwich

    Erin from Northern NY

Delicious, but need to find a softer bread. I used sourdough & once baked, it got really hard. I think I am going to try this recipe with Hawaiin round loaf since it is a much softer bread.

    Messy, but yummy!

I recently tried this recipe for a picnic lunch and it was a huge success! I loved the way that the flavors blended together as the pesto sauce soaked through. A great recipe that I will definitely make again - but keep the napkins near by!

    "The Best"

    Jennifer Jones from provo, ut

Every single person that tried this LOVED it and thought it was the best tasting sandwich they had ever had. I used less pesto (about 2/3 of the container) and might even use less in the future. But this was so good and is definitely something that I will make again!

    Touchdown!

    Lynette Gardiner from Attleboro, MA

This meal is mandatory for Sunday afternoon football in our house. It is easy to make, tastes delicious and looks like you put so much more effort into it than it really takes. I like to layer with other deli meats in addition to turkey. Cooking time will take about 15 mins longer with more meat. Serving marinara sauce on the side for dipping is also a good idea.

    Quick & good!

    Leslie Totten from Columbia, MO

This was very easy to put together. Since I don't like basil pesto, I used a spinach artichoke dip in place of it and it tasted great. It's a great reciepe for fine tuning to your own preferences. I followed everyone else's suggestions on cooking it for 60 min. I just love this site!

    Great for leftovers

    Cameron from NC

I made this with leftover turkey breast from Christmas dinner. Everyone loved it and wanted extras. I did use pimentos for the roasted red pepper, simpy because I had them in the cuppard. I will definately make this one again and again. I wouldn't change a thing about it.

    Really great!

    Colleen from middle of Kansaas

My family loved this sandwich, but I will make changes next time. We found the sourdough bread to be too chewy, especially the crust. Next time I will use a softer bread, maybe even rye! I also found I didn't hollow the bread out enough so I had leftover filling ingredients. The pesto added wonderful flavor; overall a great recipe that I will make again & again.

I made this stuffed sandwich for a recent party, and it was incredible. The combination of the pesto and turkey was delicious. I got many requests for the recipe and will definitely be making this for get togethers.

I served this sandwich to my husband and some friends. They all raved about how good it tasted. One even wanted the recipe! I used turkey and ham, and provolone and cheddar. Thanks for the idea!

    Now that's cooking!

    Kurt from Chicago

This recipe is awesome! If you like sandwich's, you'll love this. I used tomato basil pesto which gave it more depth of flavor. I'd reccomend keeping it in the oven longer...probably 60 minutes. It was even better the next day.

    Unbelievably good

    PS from NY

I've made it many times for different groups of people and believe me, I have to give the recipe each and every time. Being a vegetarian I skip the turkey but it turns out equally good. Also when I add turkey I add Boar's Head cajun turkey!

    EZ and Good

This was a great sandwich. Made it for a casual lunch and everyone was impressed. Instead of the pesto, I substituted mashed up marinated artichoke hearts and it was still good. This one's a keeper.

    Yum yum!

    Kimberly from Anchorage, AK

This sandwich was GREAT! I'm a picky eater, hate red peppers and tomatoes, and never thought I'd eat anything with pesto. But this sandwich had the perfect blend of flavors! My honeybear likes more complicated food that I do, & loved this sandwich and thought it was pretty darned incredible for me to like it too. Tip: I only used 8 oz provolone, still very cheesy.

I made this for my fiance and we both loved it. It's easy, quick, and yammy. It took me only 10 minutes to prepare it and an additional 30 minutes in oven. The secret for a better taste for this recipe is lots of cheese.
