My laziness finally paid off! I usually cook with whole milk and didn't have any and didn't feel like going out to the store to get some. Then I remembered I had some carnation evap milk and found this website and wow! I made this for lunch and it was sooooo good!! Rich and creamy and delicious! And, very easy to prepare. I will definately make this again. I think even my grandson will perfer it over that boxed "orange" kind! Thank you Carnation!! I will be buying lots more evap milk!

It's very good and VERY easy ... and ingredients you're most likely going to have on-hand ! I think I would add a little less cheese or a little more milk next time ... a little too gooey for me. But definitely a do-again !

This had a wonderful taste with the evaporated milk and the cheese; although i used a less sharp cheese. The flavor was wonderful and the texture was great. Now if I don't want to I don't have to heat uo the house with the oven.

Extra good, extra good for you.

    Nann Thomson from AVON, CT

I had my class make this. It was great to be able to make a recipe that was nutritionally "fortified" (evaporated milk, cheese AND eggs) that the teens really enjoyed. I'll make it at home for my family.

    Really creamy!

    Louise Graybiel from TORONTO, ON

This is an excellent (and fast) mac & cheese. If you have any leftovers (a rarity), they are great baked in the oven with some frozen broccoli flowerets and a little extra shredded cheese on top.

This is a fast and tasty recipe. I also have found that by adding small amounts of chicken broth to this recipe it enhances the flavor. The amount you add will depend upon the amount you are making.

mac and cheese with my 6 year old

    suzanne heffner from Allen, TX

I made this for dinner with my kitchen-experienced son who just turned 6 years old. Except for opening the can of evap milk, he did it all by himself with me watching. He even read the directions himself!! I love being in the kitchen with him, and the recipes here at VeryBestBaking.com give us even more opportunities for fun!

    A lenten quicky?

    denise bergert from Alliance, OH

I tried this recipe over the weekend. It is lent time at our house and I figured that this would be an easy recipe to fix for our lenten meal. My family did not care for this. It was a little to cheesy and bland for our taste.
