These Triple-Chocolate Cupcakes make a delicious and easy treat for birthday parties and are a chocolate lover's dream! Chocolate cake mix, chocolate pudding and chocolate morsels combine for a dangerously delicious treat. Do you dare to put chocolate frosting on, too?

Ingredients:

  • 1 package (18.25 ounces) chocolate cake mix
  • 1 package (4 ounces) chocolate instant pudding and pie filling mix
  • 1 container (8 ounces) sour cream
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 2 cups (12-ounce package) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
  • 1 container (16 ounces) prepared frosting
  • Assorted candy sprinkles

Directions:

PREHEAT oven to 350° F. Grease or paper-line 30 muffin cups.

COMBINE cake mix, pudding mix, sour cream, eggs, vegetable oil and water in large mixer bowl; beat on low speed just until blended. Beat on high speed for 2 minutes. Stir in morsels. Pour into prepared muffin cups, filling 2/3 full.

BAKE for 25 to 28 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pans for 10 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Frost; decorate with candy sprinkles.

    This is a very moist, rich, creamy cake. I have made this many times for family birthday parties and always get compliments. I have made it in a 9 x 13 pan and in (2) 9 inch pans with success. It does require you to cook a little longer than the box directions. This is a very delicious cake.

    This is the same recipe I use to also bake a bundt cake. I don't put the Morsels in the cupcakes (or the bundt cake) I melt them with 1 T. butter and drizzle over the tops after dusting with powdered sugar

    These were such a success, that on Thanksgiving there were 10 desserts on the table and these cupcakes were the first and only dessert gone. Young and old loved them. They were easy and quick. I used half a bag of mini-morsels instead of the regular size. I used fluffy white icing instead of chocolate. I guess that made them only double chocolate instead of triple. Thumbs up on this one. I will make them over and over again. I have to, they are in high demand. Thanks for this winning receipe.

    I tried this recipe yesterday and they were delicious! The recipe is simple & quick for anyone that would need a dessert in a hurry. I used a chocolate fudge cake mix and chocolate fudge frosting. My cupcakes came out rich and moist. You definitely need a glass of milk to go with these! I made two batches of cupcakes and got 35 cupcakes from the first batch and 39 cupcakes from the second batch. The baking time of 25 minutes was correct. I would highly recommend this recipe to everyone who loves chocolate!!
