I baked the brownies in a muffin tin, and noticed when I put then out onto a cooling rack(after I placed the candy in the center) they started to fall apart; The top stayed together and the bottom part of the brownie fell though-I think maybe I pressed the candy too far into the brownie-So make sure you don't press them too far when you bake them! But over all they were very chocolately!

  • Star(s)

    Very rich....

When I made these, the taste was very good, a little rich. I may have cooked the bottom layer a bit too long, it seemed a little hard for my liking, but everyone seemed to really enjoy them. Give this a try.

I was searching for a homemade german chocolate cake recipe, but only came up with this turtle brownie dessert thru very best bakers; sounds delicous. My husbands birthday is Sunday; so to the store I go to buy some german chocolate and whip up my own ideas for making him a homemade german chocolate cake with homemade coconut pecan icing. Thank you for the recipe but I like baking from scatch; I will use this after I master a german chocolate cake from scratch. Vicky
