Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Baking Cocoa
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 cups (12-oz. pkg.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Premier White Morsels, divided

Directions:

PREHEAT oven to 350° F. Grease 9-inch-square baking pan.

COMBINE flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt in medium bowl. Beat sugar, butter and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl. Add eggs, one at time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in 1 1/2 cups morsels. Spread into prepared pan.

BAKE for 25 to 30 minutes or until wooden pick inserted near center comes out slightly sticky. Cool in pan on wire rack (brownies will sink in center when cooled).

MICROWAVE remaining morsels in heavy-duty plastic bag on MEDIUM-HIGH (70%) power for 30 to 45 seconds; knead. If necessary, microwave at additional 10- to 15-second intervals, kneading until melted. Cut tiny corner from bag; squeeze to drizzle over brownies. Refrigerate for 5 minutes. Cut into squares.

    not again

    barb english from florida

I must say I will never prepare this recipe again. I did not care for the consistency of the "brownies" even though I followed the measurements carefully. It was like super-buttery cake with the chips all on the bottom. Most Nestle recipes are awesome. This one is not.

    DElicious!

I love this recipe - very easy to make! I added in some chopped walnuts and even some semi-sweet chips to kick it up a notch. It was delicious!

I really liked this recipe as did my husband. I added the drizzle as instructed then put in refrigerator but when I tried to cut them later all of the drizzle fell off. That was fine though as we loved them anyway as they were not too sweet then!

try the white morsels w/ brownie mix

    TERESA DODSON from COLLIERVILLE, TN

for those of you who thought this was average, why not use the white chips with your favorite Brownie mix instead of making from scratch. The white chips are a WONDERFUL change.

I love these brownies. My husband loves them, I'm making them again for my neighbor. They are so rich and not cakey like other homemade brownies. I also mixed some semi-sweet chips in too!

    Not a five star brownie

    LISA LOMBARDO from TURNERSVILLE, NJ

Ok, so I was surprised to read the reviews that said this was the best brownie some have ever had. Mine came out perfectly fine, but I think I prefer more of a fudgy brownie. These are a very cakelike brownie and certainly NOT the best I have ever had. Like someone else said, they were average, and I am an avid baker. I love trying new recipes, and I value reviews! I just don't think I would add these brownies to my "keeper" file. I do like the white chips inside..nice touch instead of all chocolate.

    A KISS OF STRAWBERRY

kathleen walker from CORPUS CHRISTI, TX

I DECIDED TO ADD A LITTLE VARIATION TO A GOOD RECIPE. ADD SLICE STRAWBERRIES ON TOP OF THE BROWNIES THEN DRIZZLE MELTED WHITE CHOCOLATE.

    A good alternative recipe

    Heather Vining from

These worked out well for me, no denting in the middle, decently chewy at the recommended time and temp. It's hard to do new things with brownies, so these are a nice change of pace, quite tasty.

These brownies are so good. And pretty easy to make. But they are especially tasty, the white chips make it richer. One of my favorite's now!

    No problems here

    Renee Leonard from Bellevue, NE

Mine definitely did not sink in the middle; nor was it soggy/mushy/etc. Using my oven thermometer, I got the right temp, went ahead and set timer for 30 min (since alot seemed to have problems) at 25 min it smelled like it was on the verge of burning so I checked and yep, it was done. Flavor itself was just a good average brownie, nothing spectacular or out of the ordinary... I doubt I'll make again.

    REALLY TASTY!

    Ms. Blaschuk from FARMINGDALE, NY

FIrst of all, for those of you who had problems with the cooking time, maybe you need to get an oven thermometer. I have to put my temperature setting on "365 degrees" for the temperature to register 350 degrees on the thermometer in MY oven. TRY IT! With the proper oven temperature, these were perfect. The brownies were so good. Chocolate heaven. The drizzled white chocolate on top made them look pretty too!

    Tasty

Jennifer dickinson from GRAND FORKS, ND

These are very good, but even cooking 5 minutes longer than the recipe said they were gooey in the middle. I added nuts, so perhaps the added ingredients needed a longer cooking time.

    Great Treat

    Erin Gay from

This was a very easy dessert to make. My six year old daughter helped to make them and she loved eating them even more. We had a lot of fun making them and when they were done they were even better than I thought that they would be. They were all gone within a half hour and then we made two more batches. One to eat and one to share.

    MUSH

Alicia Hall from Powell River, BC

I always feel a bit IFFY trying new recipe's and was a little nervous with this one because of some of the reviews. What a waste of ingredients and time these brownies were, 30 mins was NOT enough time, they would NOT cook in the middle at all, the oiutside ended up severely dried out and the middle was still mush :(

  • Star(s)

    disappointed

    Sarah from Libertyville

These brownies were good but not great. Maybe I was disappointed because of all the great reviews. For my oven, 25 to 30 minutes was not even close to being done...most recipes for 9x9 pans call for 40 minutes..I found this to be true for me. The topping was good but it tended to fall off easily.

I think this is the most delicious brownie I've ever eaten. The cocoa makes a unique chocolate flavor that goes perfectly with the white chocolate. The melted white chocolate drizzled on top looks really fancy.
