Fun to eat, Cheddar Beef Pull-A-Part Bread makes a great appetizer or snack. Great for all occasions.


  • 2 packages 11 oz. each Creamed Chipped Beef, defrosted
  • 2 cups 8 oz. each shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can 8 oz. water chestnuts, drained and chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onion
  • 2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
  • 3/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot red pepper sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pound (1 Loaf) unsliced Italian bread

COMBINE Creamed Chipped Beef, 1 1/2 cups Cheddar cheese, water chestnuts, green onion, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, pepper sauce and salt in large bowl. Slice bread three times vertically and approximately every 1 1/2 inches horizontally to within 1/4' of bottom crust. Bread will have a 'checkerboard' appearance.

STUFF all cuts in bread with Creamed Chipped Beef mixture. Wrap bread in aluminum foil, keeping top exposed. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top of stuffed bread.

BAKE in preheated 400 °F. oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until bread is browned and crispy.

*DEFROST Creamed Chipped Beef in microwave on 50% power for 5 to 6 minutes. Makes 10 to 12 servings

My mom has been making this for us for years and it's always delicious. She excludes the water chestnuts, however. But it is definitely a great party appetizer and a fun weekend family treat.

I really thought all the different ingredients that separately I love would meld together into a really great dish. WRONG! I took a double batch to a party and brought home most of both loaves. It was a mushy, slimy, salty mess and tasted just awful. I cannot think of anything to make the recipe better. Just make something else and steer clear of this disaster!

Family Favorite

Three years ago at Thanksgiving I took one loaf for my family to try. Since then, I have been "required" to bring this every year. Great dish!

Very good

I made two of them and took them to a surprise party. Everyone loved it. The only thing that I would do next time is allow more time to make it. The presentation of it....looked great!! I had to run off numerous copies of the recipe to give out.

Excellent Football Treat

I have made this without the water chestnuts and with, either is wonderful, we have also used dijon mustard instead of tabasco with shredded swiss cheese. We love all kinds of cheeses and all kinds of condiments and have tried several, we even made three different kinds for the bowl games, all were devored! It is so easy and so tasty, my kids ask for this for parent night at school and for basketball parties.
